At the end of 2015 we received an unexpected and very generous donation that allows us to expand and develop our activities.
m@m+With m@m+ our plan is to nurture the seeds sown at the main festival by inviting one of our young musicians to return to Marsac with his or her own ensemble. At the end of their stay, after several days of intensive rehearsal in the calm of the Grenier, they will give a concert, the receipts of which will help fund another residency.
For the first m@m+ we have invited the young British violinist Savitri Grier (m@m 2014, 2015) to come with her fellow Guildhall students Catherine Poplyansky, violin, Alexander McFarlane, viola, and Leander Kippenberg, cello, playing together as the Apollo Quartet. They will spend five days with us in June, from 10th to 15th. During their stay they will give a musical presentation to the children of the Marsac primary school. In addition, in order to share our good fortune, we have offered the end-of-visit concert to the neighbouring village of Montgaillard, whose church has some particularly unusual and interesting murals. They have accepted with enthusiasm. |
